Adam Vanderwoerd is the owner of The Gibsons Butcher Inc. and is a local to the Sunshine Coast, having lived here all his life. After working at Super Valu as the head butcher, for many years, Adam decided to venture out on his own. His passion for food and fine meats is clear the moment you step into his shop. He takes great pride in the preparation of all his beautiful cuts of meat and he is happy to offer cooking tips or suggest different ways to prepare your favorite cuts of meat. Adam’s favorite cut of meat is the Tri Tip. Adam’s customers love his beef jerky, which is personally smoked by Adam and sells out within hours each and every time he makes it.

Joe started his career as a chef and worked in many restaurants alongside many great chefs. This is where Joe’s passion for food and flavors developed. When Joe started his family he shifted into butchery as the hours are better for families. Joe and his wife Jaimie and their two kids relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 2011 for a quieter lifestyle. Joe is trained in Classic English and Scandinavian style butchery and his favorite cut of is Pork Belly.
